Along the way

The itinerary

Organized from the July 2–19, 2026 Family Exploration Roadbook. This is the recorded itinerary; conditional activities are identified below.

  1. 01

    July 2–7

    Luquillo / Fajardo

Arrival from San Juan, then El Yunque on July 3, Icacos by water taxi with snorkeling on July 4, a chocolate hacienda on July 5, and Old San Juan on July 6. The city day includes El Morro, plazas and local food.

Options in the roadbook: Mt. Britton and La Coca stops as conditions allow; Las Cabezas or Seven Seas on the hacienda day; San Cristóbal or Museo de las Américas in the city.

  2. 02

    July 7–10

    La Parguera / Cabo Rojo

A transfer via Ponce, followed by boat exploration through mangroves and cays, snorkeling and a La Parguera biobay outing on July 8. July 9 focuses on Los Morrillos, the coastline and salt flats.

Options in the roadbook: A Guánica dry-forest trail or beach / snorkeling alternative.

  3. 03

    July 10–13

    Arecibo / Utuado

North into limestone country. Cueva Ventana on July 11 and a Batay Adventures river-caving day on July 12, with the evening left free to recover.

Options in the roadbook: Cueva del Indio / coastal cliffs if safe and open; a light coffee or small-town stop on the transfer.

  4. 04

    July 13–14

    Bayamón

A short transition stay with time to rest before the Ceiba ferry. The river-caving day and the ferry day are deliberately kept separate.

  5. 05

    July 14–18

    Vieques

Ferry from Ceiba on July 14. July 15 combines UTV exploration with Mosquito Bay in the evening; July 16 is for snorkeling and island beaches. July 17 stays flexible before the return ferry.

Options in the roadbook: Punta Arenas snorkeling in calm conditions; a backup Mosquito Bay night if weather changes the original plan.

  6. 06

    July 18–19

    San Juan / Ocean Park

Back through Ceiba to San Juan for one last night, an easy evening and the flight home on July 19.
