Separate island drives across two summers. We used Shaka Guide GPS audio tours throughout the four islands, making the road part of the experience.

June 25–29, 2022
Maui
Wailuku was the first base. The four-island map places the Road to Hana and Haleakalā within this island’s landscape; the family used Shaka Guide audio tours to explore.

June 29–July 8, 2022
Big Island
Kona → Hawi → Hilo → Volcano → Kona. The sequence of bases gives the island loop its structure: Kona until July 1, Hawi overnight, Hilo until July 4, Volcano until July 7, then back to Kona.

July 8–9, 2022
Back to Maui
A final overnight in Kahului before the journey home.

July 7–11, 2023
Big Island again
The second summer begins in Kona, includes two nights in a forest cottage, then returns to Kona. A manta ray outing is recorded on July 10.

July 11–16, 2023
Kaua‘i
The next island base, with tubing recorded on July 12. The original map includes the North Shore, Wailua Valley and waterfalls, Waimea / Nā Pali, and Poʻipū / Kōloa driving routes.

July 16–21, 2023
O‘ahu
Honolulu was the final base. The original collage shows the island’s coastline, North Shore and mountain landscapes alongside the city.
